Obituary: Phillip Wayne Douglas Sr ‎(September 1, 1943 - May 24, 2011)‎

Mr. Phillip Wayne Douglas, Sr., 67, of Lakeview, North Carolina died peacefully on May 24, 2011, at his home.

A funeral service was held at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial followed at Yates-Thaggard Cemetery.

Mr. Douglas was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina and worked as a supervisor at Pride Trimble and was the husband of Mary Garner for 29 years. He was a kind and loving man and he will be greatly missed. He is the son of Mildred Lynn Bell of Homosassa, Fl., and the Late James Pryor Douglas, Sr.

He is survived by one son, Phillip Wayne Douglas II and wife Brigitte of Carthage; three daughters, Cindy Pardue and husband Danny of Carthage; Leslie Robbins and husband Jeffrey of West End; Tiffany Douglas and husband Robert Voight of Cameron; one sister, Carol Cameron of Homosassa, Fl; two brothers, George Douglas of Cameron; Robert Douglas of Homosassa, Fl; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Pryor Douglas, Jr.

The family received friends two hours prior to the funeral, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Obituary: Death of William Lloyd Taylor ‎(1928-2011)‎

William Lloyd Taylor, 82, of Homosassa, FL, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at his home.

A Native American Creek Indian, he was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Stockton, AL, to the late Sam and Vivian ‎(Thompson)‎ Taylor.

After 20 years of service with the U.S. Air Force, he retired with the rank of Tech Sgt., and had served with the Special Operations Group and was a veteran of Vietnam.

He was a member of American Legion Post No 155 and life member of VFW Post 8189.

William was preceded in death by his stepson, James P. Douglas, and brother, Cecil G. Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred L. Taylor of Homosassa; son, Michael L. Taylor of Bay Minette, AL; daughters, Sandra Powell of Bay Minette, AL, and Carol L. Cameron of Homosassa; stepsons, Phillip Douglas, Robert Douglas both of Homosassa and Ralph Douglas of Cameron, NC; 38 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 28, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs, Fla., with burial following in Fountains Memorial Park, 5635 W. Green Acres St. in Homosassa, zip code 34446.

Harold E. Wells, 84, died just after midnight on Dec. 19, 2009 in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Below is the obituary.

Osborne E. Wells, Jr., 84, of Shelbyville died Saturday at Heritage Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Hillcrest Funeral Home, with Dr. Tom Rousseau officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m.

A native of Bath, S.C., he was the son of the late Osborne E. Wells, Sr. and Hattie Bell Harmon Wells. He was a longtime resident of Shelbyville; a retired employee of Uniroyal; a charter member of Cannon United Methodist Church; past president of the Civitan Club; Scout Master of Troop 390, where he received the Long Rifle Award; and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

A great-grandchild preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sara Elizabeth Douglas Wells; two sons, Osborne Eugene Wells and Doug Wells, and two daughters, Mary Cathryn Perry and Eve Wells, all of Shelbyville; two brothers, Reuben R. Wells of Dublin, Ga. and George W. Wells of Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

This note from Evelyn Long. Evelyn Long's maiden name is Evelyn Carrolle Douglas, sister of Harold Eugene Douglas Jr.:

Harold Jr died this morning. The visitation will be on Monday from 6 - 8.........at Gordon Memorial Methodist Church.
The funeral will be on Tuesday at 4:00 at Gordon Memorial Methodist Church in Winnsboro. Harold Jr. was born on March 12th, 1922.

Tommy, Leslie, Wallace&Jean, Mary Ann and I were with him most of the day yesterday. His granddaughter, Kim, was there all day.

Death of Jerry Walton Douglas ‎(Sept 7, 1946 - Aug 17, 2009)‎

Jerry Walton Douglas passed away on Aug. 17, 2009. Cause of death is thought to be due to the effects of Agent Orange, a chemical widely used in Vietnam to defoliate trees to deprive the enemy of cover during the Vietnam War.

Please use it regularly for help with a page, function or whatever. There's even a list of Frequently Asked Questions ‎(FAQs)‎. If you still need your question answered, or want to see a question added to the FAQs, contact Robby Douglas.

Please don't blindly try to change things without the help that is available on any page. Otherwise, you will become needlessly confused, and possibly mess up information.

We have just learned of the death of Neill Mills Carson, Jr. was born December 6, 1922 and died February 4, 2008.

He was the son of Neill Mills Carson Jr. and Ethel Smith.

Carsons 2008 Reunion set for July 26

The Carson Family Reunion for 2008 has been set for July 26.

The group will meet at 5:30 p.m. at Mount Pisgah Church in Gastonia, N.C.

Libby Carson Todd said, "No invitations are being sent out this year so a few of us have divided the mailing list up and we're contacting those on our list and only the heads of each family."

"The Carson Clan lost Neill Mills Carson on February 4. Don't know if you knew him but he was the only child of the youngest of the original 13 children. So that's the last of that generation," she said.

Ralph, Robby, Phillip Douglas, born May 17, 1969, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Pensacola Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.

Ralph, age 39, was the son of James Pryor Douglas Jr., who died Aug. 12, 2003, also in Pensacola.

He was not married.
